The dominant theme of food in Cape Verde is fish. Fresh fish from the sea is available all over the country. In addition visitors can enjoy a stew called Cachupa.
The Cape Verdean people are infected with the love of music. They love to party and enjoy themselves and when there is live music in a bar or club, there will invariably be dancing.
There is a lot more to discover in this lovely country. This includes the loggerhead turtles, the almost constantly good weather, the mountains and the deserts and in addition the beaches. The sea is teeming with marine life and there are beautiful plants and trees to see.
Trips to see the whales are available from many of the islands. The waters around Cape Verde are a breeding ground for Humpback Whales. Whilst boat trips are organised, it is also possible to see them from some of the islands.
Cape Verde is aware of the need to respect the environment and has plans to be able to produce approximately half of its energy from renewable sources. The country is also keen to protect the wildlife such as the loggerhead turtles.
